The City of Kamloops released a draft for the official Downtown plan this afternoon. 

This plan is an update to the "City Centre Plan 2005," and will provide a framework to guide planning and land use management for the West End neighbourhoods, the Sagebrush, and the Downtown over a 20-year time frame. 

Based on feedback from residents last year, the City has created a draft of where they plan to make changes in the downtown. The plan also identifies "big moves" as potential ideas to realize the Downtown Plan's vision.

Potential big moves the plan discusses include the new Centre for the Arts, a taming of Seymour Street, a pedestrian plaza on 4th Avenue, upgrades to the Columbia Precinct, and more.

To obtain feedback on this draft, the City will be hosting a community workshop and Q&A at the Sandman Centre's Valley First Lounge on November 21st from 7 to 9 pm. Feedback from the community workshop will be used to make revisions prior to presenting the final plan to Council for adoption later this year.
