  • Christy Clark Ranks #1 for Money Management Among Premiers

    In a new report, put out by the Fraser Institute, British Columbia Premier Christy Clark has been ranked number one for “fiscal performance.”

    The relative fiscal performance of 10 Canadian premiers, six current and four former, was measured based on government spending, taxes, and deficits and debt.

    Overall, Christy Clark placed first, with Quebec premier Philippe Couillard, not far behind and Brad Wall, premier of Saskatchewan, finishing off the top three.

    On the government spending component Clark actually came in third.

    When it came to deficits and debt, Wall topped the list and Clark came second.

    Each premier’s performance was measured from the time got they in office, up to the most recent fiscal year.

    Each premier received an overall score out of 100 and rank out of 10 in each major component.

    Clark secured first with an overall score of 78.5 out of 100, with Couillard very close behind with a score of 78.2.
