What is your favourite thing about Kelowna? From the wild environment that surrounds us on every side to the feeling of community that we enjoy, there’s a lot to love.

Celebrate the wild ideas and creativity found within our community at the 3rd annual Wilden Creativity Day on Sunday, August 13th, from 2-5pm. Showcasing local talent, supporting young artists and inspiring culture, the event serves as a platform for the community to come together and champion passionate and accomplished individuals in a variety of fields. 

Art Exhibition

Featuring the work of three local artists, including the winner of this year’s Wilden Creativity Award, there will be a stunning display of art in multiple mediums. The Wilden Creativity Award is given to a student who has produced a body of work that reflects a powerful message as well as a high level of originality, passion and accomplishment. 

Rho Shaw, the 2017 winner, works primarily in photography and silkscreen, with a focus on themes such as identity and language.

The two runners-up will also be displaying their work. Pamela Turner, a born and raised Kelowna local, works primarily with sculpture and printmaking, focusing on methods associated with hand crafted textiles. Also born and raised in Kelowna, Jackie Deck will be showcasing her oil paintings and accompanying sculptures exploring the relationship between the natural world and man-made modern life. 

Live Music

There’s nothing better than relaxing and listening to some live music by local talent. Featuring Michael Huber, Nicole Holkestad and Adam Meachem, the music will range in style from melodic songwriting, to passionate storytelling and guitar-driven soundscapes. So sit back, relax and get lost in the inspirational music of these local musicians.

There were over 250 entries to this year’s annual #WildKelowna photo contest. The best photos will be on display, and the winner will be announced!

Culinary Masterpieces

Delicious, creative and local food and drink? Count us in. On site will be some of Kelowna’s leading names in the culinary scene. With hand-crafted chocolates from Karat Chocolate, farm-to-table gelato by QB Gelato, internationally recognized wine by Vibrant Wine, the Okanagan lifestyle all wrapped up in a can with beer from BNA Brewing and delicious kombucha from Motherlove Ferments.

Taking place in Wilden’s newest showhome and presentation centre at 1454 Rocky Point Drive, you can wander through the unique design and stunning location while enjoying all the day has to offer.
