It was a rude awakening for the children at School District 57 on Tuesday. 

According to SD57's Communication and Community Relations Officer Jason Peters, the Canfor Elementary "Skills Trailers" was stolen overnight from the Buckhorn Elementary School grounds.

The trailer is used to transport tools, supplies, and equipment to schools throughout the district. Once the trailer is on-site at a location, teacher Trevor Pearen uses it as a home base to deliver programming to the students. These programs include hands-on learning opportunities as well as woodworking projects.

When the trailer was stolen, most of the equipment was in the Buckhorn gym. It is estimated that only $1,000 worth of equipment and supplies were in the trailer at the time it was taken.
