According to one travel company, Britain’s departure from the EU has got Canadians dreaming of travels to the U.K. with a cheaper price tag.

The pound hit a 30-year low after the Brexit, meaning everything from London flights to West End theatre tickets is now a better value for Canadians.

According to Cheapflights.ca, after the Brexit vote, searches for flights to the U.K. from Canada rose by nearly 50 per cent.

The website says airfares from Canada to London flights this August are down about 11 per cent compared to last August.

There could also be other perks if you’ve already booked your flight. Hotel rooms, activities, theatre tickets, meals and transportation could be on sale for a short time, so the site recommends booking as soon as possible while the exchange rate is better.

For the next two years, the EU will be in the process of initiating rule changes. For now, it’s a good time to take advantage of discount flights between the U.K. and European countries while they still have ties and travel is easy.

Those headed to the U.K this summer can prepare for crowds of tourists from around the world. Flight searches from the U.S. to the U.K. doubled in the days after the vote while those from China jumped 61 per cent, and searches from EU countries went up more than 30 per cent.
