A new worldwide study has ranked Canada in the top 20 safest countries during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

To conduct the study, researches considered 130 parameters and 11,400 data points such as government handling, hospital availability, virus detection, emergency preparedness, overall mortality rates and more. 

The top ranked country is Israel, with an overall tally of 751 points (out of 1,000), followed by Germany (749), and Switzerland (742).

Canada ranked 12th on the list (699), landing between United Arab Emirates (700) and Hong Kong (698), and was the only country of any of the Americas to make the list.

 The United States ranked 58th with 530 points.

According to the study, Isreal earned its top ranking due to quickly implementing anti COVID-19 health measures such as banning all air travel from Asia. 

The country also has an advanced health care technologies that makes its system extremely efficient and allowed officials to easily conduct contract tracing for the virus.
