  • Cache Creek placed under state of emergency due to flooding

    The village of Cache Creek has officially declared a state of emergency following a flooding event in the area. 

    According to a letter from Mayor Santo Talarico, the flooding poses an existing or imminent threat to people and property within areas in the vicinity of the village.

    "This flooding emergency requires prompt coordination of action or special regulation of persons or property to protect the health, safety, or welfare of people to limit damage to property," wrote Talarico. 

    Employees, residents, and agents from Cache Creek are now empowered to implement all procedures that are considered necessary to prevent the effects of the emergency. 

    So far, close to 50 people have been evacuated because of the flooding. The state of emergency is expected to be in place until at least Saturday.
