(UPDATE: July 6th @ 10:15 a.m.) – Crews continue to battle what is now labelled as two separate wild fires about 12 kilometres southeast of Big White.
One is estimated at 0.8 hectares and is been worked on by two initial attack crews and three BC Wildfire personnel.
The other fire is just 200 metres away, but it's only 0.002 hectares in size and there's one initial attack crew and three BC Wildfire personnel battling it.
There is currently no air support as both fires can be reached by vehicles on the ground.
According to Carlee Kachman from the Southeast Fire Centre, the bigger fire was caused by a lightning strike.
(Original story: July 5th @ 3:50 p.m.) – Fire crews are responding to a fire near Big White.
According to the Southeast Fire Centre, the blaze is currently estimated at one hectare in size and was reported around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
The fire's location is about 10 km to the south east of Big White and is not threatening any structures.
Currently, there are three initial attack crews responding along with air tankers.
The cause is unknown at this time.
