The first move of the vitally important offseason for the Kamloops Blazers was made Wednesday afternoon, as 20-year old Reese Belton was shipped off to the Tri-City Americans in exchange for a fourth round pick in 2023.
Belton spent the past three years with the Blazers after being drafted in the fifth round of the 2017 WHL Prospects Draft.
The Winnipeg native had 14 goals, 20 assists for 34 points in 64 regular season games in 2021-22.

In the postseason this year, the 20-year old had five points in 17 games. Throughout his three-year career, Belton accumulated 20 goals, 25 assists in 118 games. He also racked up 87 penalty minutes.
With WHL rules allowing only three 'overage' players (20-years old) on a team at a time, the Blazers are looking ahead to keep those spots open.
