  • Blazers give up 4 straight goals in loss to Royals

The Kamloops Blazers were in action on Monday for a rare game at the start of the week.

Kamloops came into the game against the Victoria Royals like they were shot out of a cannon, though it wouldn't result in a win. Despite outshooting the Royals 32 to 23, the Blazers would fall by a score of 4-1.

In the first period, Kamloops outshot Victoria seven to two and Connor Zary scored the only goal. Rayce Ramsay didn't need to do much, stopping both shots he faced.

The second was a different story with Tarun Fizer and Carson Miller each scoring a goal for the Royals. Kamloops was down one after two.

In the third frame, Gary Haden scored an insurance marker before and empty netter sealed it for the Royals.

Ramsay played just over 59 minutes in the loss and made 19 saves on 22 shots. Kamloops' power-play went 0/4 on the night.

Despite the loss, the Blazers still sit six points up on the Kelowna Rockets for top spot in the BC Division standings.

Up next, the team takes on the Vancouver Giants at home on Friday. Puck drop is at 7 pm in the Sandman Centre.
