The Kamloops Blazers were in action over the weekend, this time with two games against the Vancouver Giants. 

Kamloops didn't have the luck on their side as Friday's game resulted in an overtime loss while Saturday's tilt closed in regulation. 

In game one, Josh Pillar and Connor Zary scored the game's opening goals to put the Blazers up two. Vancouver would score four unanswered before Zary and Orrin Centazzo hammered in a pair to push OT. In the extra frame, Eric Florchuk scored to seal the win for Vancouver. 

Friday wasn't Dylan Garand's greatest of games, stopping just 26 of 31 shots. The Blazers were the superior team on the power play, scoring on two of six chances. 

Game two was in Kamloops, though it was delayed for about one hour due to multiple highway closures. Pillar scored the opening goal of the game for a second straight night before Vancouver got three straight. Zary would add a late one in the third but Kamloops couldn't tie the game. 

Garand was playing strong, stopping 17 of 18 shots before he went down with an injury and had to leave the game. Rayce Ramsay stopped just six of eight shots in relief, picking up the loss in the process. 

With the two losses, Kamloops stays 11 points up on the Victoria Royals for top spot in the WHL's BC Division. 

Up next, the Blazers head to Victoria on Friday for a match against the Royals. Puck drop at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Arena is at 7 pm.
