With spring in the air, BC 1 Call, along with FortisBC are reminding residents to call before they dig.
Those interested in digging can call 1-800-474-6886, or can go online by clicking this link to request a free locate ticket.
BC 1 Call is the non-profit organization that provides communication between those planning to dig, and the owners of underground facilities around BC.

A reminder that a locate request must be made a minimum of three business days prior to the work beginning, as it allows members with enough time to provide the necessary information to the homeowner or contractor.
Calling BC 1 Call is free and the information gathered helps reduce the risk of personal injury, avoids interrupting essential services and prevents costly repairs.
A reminder to homeowners, work that includes installing posts, planting trees, deck building, installing fire pits and retaining walls may all cause damage to underground infrastructure.
