Mounties in the BC Interior are trying to identify a suspect who allegedly stole a significant amount of alcohol from a liquor store.
On Dec. 2, the Merritt RCMP were called to the city’s BC Liquor store just after 7 pm for a report of a theft after an unknown male entered the store and took approximately $800 worth of liquor.
Although RCMP officers quickly attended the area and searched the immediate area, they were unable to identify the man.

They are now releasing pictures and information about the suspect in an effort to identify him.
The male suspect was wearing a red and black Cummins hat with a white “C” on the front, a black and tan rain jacket and black jeans.
According to police, the man is about 5’9”.
"The Merritt RCMP take calls for service from our business here in town very seriously,” said Cst. Blake Chursinoff of the Merritt RCMP.
“Unfortunately all investigational leads to identify the male has not produced results and we are now asking the public to assist us in identifying this male so that he can be arrested and brought before the courts.”
