UPDATE: BC Hwy 5 reopens near Little Fort after police incident

(Update – 3:40 p.m.): BC Hwy 5 has reopened south of Little Fort.

As reported, there was an earlier police incident that caused the closure.

NowMedia will update the story when more information is available.

(Original – 2:15 p.m.): Residents looking to travel north on the Yellowhead Highway should be aware that it is currently closed.

According to Drive BC, the road is closed at Thuya Creek Road just south of Little Fort.

Drive BC explained the closure was caused by a police incident.

Currently, there is no estimated time of reopening, though residents have mentioned traffic is moving.
