BC Hwy 5 closed in both direction after rockslide south of Barriere

Residents should be aware that BC Hwy 5 is currently closed near Barriere due to a rock slide.

The slide occurred about 7 to 11 kilometres south of the town. BC Hydro is reporting that 29 customers have lost power due to the incident.

Crews are on scene and an assessment is currently in progress.

At this time, there is no detour available and no estimated time of reopening.
