Conservation Officers were in northern BC this weekend, dealing with a scared baby animal. 

According to the BC COS, a cow moose mistakenly led her calf into a rural acreage yard in Prince George. Once in the yard, the calf fled after being spooked by the owner's dogs.

During the commotion, the calf's mother wound up leaving the scene. 

Despite the calf being left alone overnight in hopes that of a reunion with the mother, the cow moose never returned. 

Officers would safely capture the calf in the morning. They made sure it was uninjured and well-fed.

The calf has now been transported to a wildlife rescue facility for the foreseeable future.
