A lucky moose has been rescued after falling through ice in northern British Columbia.
The majestic – if a little clumsy – mammal was left stranded near Fort St John on Wednesday morning.

But helpful conservation officers, who were assisted by locals, were alerted to the moose’s plight.
They all worked together to guide it out of peril.

“As we say in the North, 'many hands make for light work,’” the Conservation Officer Service said.
“Everyone’s help was most appreciated!”
