Ever heard of a little band called Led Zeppelin? Well this Michigan-based quartet, known as Greta Van Fleet (GVF), may just be the modern-day reincarnation.
The group is comprised of brothers Josh Kiszka (21) vocals, Jake Kiszka (21) lead guitar, Sam Kiszka (18) bass and their close friend Danny Wagner (18) drums.

The band was formed back in 2012, but as of April 2017, it has garnered international success after its debut, self-titled EP dropped like an atomic bomb.
With heavy blues influences, vocals that teeter on the edge of heavy metal, along with southern-folk infusions, you simply cannot put GVF into one box.
It has been speculated that they were sent from another planet to begin the resurgence of rock, and that seems to be the only conceivable answer upon hearing the immense talent that backs this band.

Their music has quickly made its way onto many charts including the Billboard 200 where their first EP peaked this past November at 182, and their second EP reach number 36 and stuck around for six weeks.
My interest was initially peaked when Apple Music had them featured as artist-of-the-week back in April. I remember hearing the popular song, Highway Tune, and being so baffled that I was convinced it was Plant, Page and Jones using these young dudes as a front for a new project.
For rock and roll fans, these young gentlemen may just be the saving grace we need. With raunchy riffs and holier-than-thou guitar solos, drumming that hits harder than a battering ram, and goosebump-inducing vocals, this group is bringing back all of the elements of 70s golden-era rock that we have been hungry for.
In November of 2017, they released double EP From the Fires which included the four original songs from their first EP, along with four new tracks which included an absolutely magical rendition of Sam Cooke’s A Change Is Gonna Come.
The group has already embarked on a sold-out headlining tour in the U.S. and will be heading to Europe in March 2018 before conquering the festival circuit this Spring, where it is set to take on Coachella, Rock The Range and many others. Fingers crossed that we Canadians will be seeing show dates from the highly revered young musicians very shortly.
Their music can be heard practically everywhere now. Stream it on Spotify and Apple Music, or if you were lucky enough to know of these musical wizards beforehand, acquire one of their limited edition vinyl records this past December.
This band is one to watch, and keep your ears glued too, as there's no doubt GVF is rising up like a phoenix from the ashes.
