The topic of the U.S. election is the most popular novelty betting category on a popular Canadian gambling site.

BCLC was the first jurisdiction in Canada to offer novelty betting on the U.S. Election in 2014.

Since then, the popularity of the bets has gained interest as Donald Trump gained momentum in the Republican primary.

PlayNow.com has 10 types of wagers on the U.S. elections ranging from who will be the Democratic Vice Presidential candidates to whether an independent candidate will win the election.

When it comes to the presidential race, Hillary Clinton has the edge over Donald Trump with 2 to 5 odds. Most people placing bets in B.C. have their money on Clinton to become president.

Trump’s odds of winning the presidency are currently just above 2 to 1. A $10 wager on Trump would return $31 dollars if Trump gets elected. These odds are vastly improved since January 2015 when his odds were 100 to 1.

The Republican Party Convention will take place from July 18-21 while the Democratic Convention is set for July 25-28. The US Election Day is on Tuesday, November 8, 2016.

On Saturday, Trump officially announced his Vice Presidential choice to Governor Mike Pence.
