A mother-daughter duo from B.C. are among those competing on the upcoming season of the Amazing Race Canada.
Frankie and Amy Gassler from Aldergrove as the only team from B.C. participating in season four of the show, set to air beginning June 28 on CTV. The duo are one of 10 teams competing n the show and will bring their spunk and style to the show. Both Gassler’s are work in the beauty industry, Frankie as a stylist and Amy a barber.
Last season, The Amazing Race Canada was the most-watched program of the summer with an average audience of 2.6 million viewers each week. The winner of the race will take home $250,000 in cash and their choice of any Chevrolet vehicle driven during the race.
According to CTV, the typical mother/daughter roles are reversed with this pair.
“Amy is the mature one who shines with smarts and creative energy, while Frankie is a fiery young soul with a tough-as-nails exterior. Working in a hair salon, they are used to their clients venting, and they have become masters of conversation. And when required, they also know how and when to manipulate the conversation,” reads the online bio for the pair.
Frankie said she would use the prize money to pay off debts, travel, and put toward her son’s college education. Amy would put her share toward a house, travel, and donation to Critter Care where she volunteered.
