Another person is in hospital after another weekend shooting in Nanaimo. 

A 39-year-old man is currently in hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. 

The incident occurred at about 8 pm on Saturday, in the vicinity of the Coast Bastion Hotel.
 
The incident was initially reported  by Community Safety Officers (CSO’s) who were on patrol when they were flagged down by the victim who was bleeding heavily from a facial injury. He told the officers that he had been shot. 

Attending paramedics provided emergency care then transported the victim to the Nanaimo hospital for medical treatment.  

The area surrounding the hotel was closed off to the public to allow investigators time to search the parking and surrounding area for forensic evidence. 

To date, no arrests have been made and the firearm involved has not been located.
