The sunshine came out just in time for participating locals to embark on the 1 km Walk for Autism Awareness and Acceptance.

For its sixth year, the walk was held at Mission Creek Regional Park and invited attendees to walk for an important cause, as well as learn more about useful community resources.

Over 700 guests attended the "FUNraiser", and had the opportunity to browse over 50 booths from different organizations around the community, that offer resources and support for families and individuals with diversabilites.

Though the event itself doesn't collect funds, it offers a space for organizations that do run off donations a place to share their story.

Hosted to raise awareness on the growing number of individuals who will be identified with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, the event focuses more on how to celebrate a diagnosis rather than how to cope with one.

In addition to participating in the walk, or learning from the booths, attendees had the chance to get their faces painted, have fun in the bounce houses and enjoy other educational activities.
