Western Canada Theatre is getting in the holiday spirit with its adaptation of A Christmas Carol, playing at the Sagebrush Theatre starting November 30th.

Following his Western Canada Theatre directorial debut, artistic director James McDonald is the director and playwright bringing the Charles Dickens classic to the Kamloops stage.

On a fateful Christmas Eve, the miserly and miserable Ebenezer Scrooge is taken on a transformative journey by three spirits — and the very unhappy ghost of his partner. From cosy hearths to snowy graveyards, from scenes of despair to festive gatherings, here is the classic tale of redemption in a brand-new theatrical version created for WCT audiences. An outstanding kick-off to the holiday season — joyous, spooky, funny, and full of heart. And great for the whole family!

The adaptation stars Kamloops favourites Quenten Clark, who last appeared with WCT as Michael Banks in Mary Poppins, and Alex Mittelsteadt, who played Flick in A Christmas Story.

Kamloops’ very own Cohen Chow, Rachel Farrow and Kirk Smith will join them, in addition to Janet Michael and Christopher Weddell, who both appeared in WCT’s last season. Another Kamloops favourite, Andrew Cooper will act in and be the assistand director for A Christmas Carol.
