Hosted by the Kelowna Golf and Country Club, the annual event attracts golfers from across British Columbia to hit the links in support of a worthy cause.
The tournament was created nearly a decade ago as a way to bolster the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, an initiative that provides financial assistance to local, low-income families in order to ensure equal access to Y programs, memberships and activities.

Last year alone, participants managed to raise nearly $30,000 with 100% of the proceeds going to support the cause and community.
The 144 registrants will have the opportunity to not only help families within our community, but earn the chance to take home some stellar prizes, like a new set of wheels, by participating in the hole-in-one, longest drive and over the pond competitions.

The event tees off on Monday at 1 p.m., so if you happen to be in the area, stop by to take in the action. Registration is full for the 2018 event, but that doesn’t mean you can't support the cause.
To donate you can visit the YMCA Okanagan website. Keep your eyes open to register for next year and golf 18-holes for a worthwhile cause.
