If you're like many other people in Kelowna, the weekend for you is all about enjoying the city at your own leisurely pace. Maybe you’ll head to a new to you local restaurant, support our small business owners or check out a fun community event. No matter what you may get up to, Kelowna always has something fun to do on your days off.
If you want to get out and about this weekend but aren't sure where to start, here is a list of great things we think you should check out on your weekend excursions.
Hype up the Rockets
The boys will be playing their 12th home game of the season on Friday night at Prospera Place against the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Get your noisemakers out and cheer on our boys, puck drop is at 7:05!
Hit the slopes
Lucky for us, living in the Okanagan means we are surrounded by awesome ski hills and great weather. This Saturday marks opening day for Sun Peaks resort and Nordic opening day at Silver Star!
Grab your toque, skiis or board, pack up the car and take a trip to carve up some powder for your first few runs of the season!
Head to a Holiday Market
Now that the holiday season is gearing up that means holiday markets are popping up all over the place and this weekend is full of them.
On Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. you can visit the Marché de Noël at the Centre Culturel Francophone on Bernard Ave, where you can browse tons of vendors tables and even enjoy some delicious French-Canadian treats!

After that you and your market hopping crew can head to the Laurel Packing House to check out the Holiday Market hosted by the Momma Collective. There you will be able to find everything from handmade baby clothes to organic skin care and everything in between.

If you still have an itch for artisan creations come Sunday, you can head to the Parkinson Recreation Centre and take in the Connect Christmas Market. Spend another afternoon surrounded by hand crafted creations from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and cross a few things off your holiday shopping list.
