When it's scorching out…no amount of lemonade or fan power can compare to a good old fashioned outdoor water park.
Getting sprayed with a cold blast of water in a beautiful park with friends and family defines simple summer fun.

As the temperature continues to climb this weekend, you’re going to need to stay cool. Greater Victoria has a good number of spray parks to enjoy — here are five family water getaways to check out:
Esquimalt Adventure Park
335 Fraser Street, Esquimalt
This splash pad is guaranteed to beat the summer heat. Kids and adults clamour for cool water here, and the “big dumper” gives you a shocking and satisfying drench. This water park gets full marks for having its own changing facilities.
Centennial Spray Park

Flanked by beautiful trees, baseball diamonds, and a stocked concession stand, this spray park is the ultimate way to spend an afternoon getting cool. It’s the perfect place for a picnic too.
Beacon Hill Water Park
Circle Drive, Victoria

The giant watering can here is as much a water source as it is a piece of park art. The can "waters" people all summer long, and is especially gentle enough for toddlers to enjoy.
Glenn Lake Beach Park

This charming little spray park sits on the Glenn waters and is surrounded by picnic tables and playground fun. And if the spray park isn’t hitting all your cooling needs – just go jump in the lake.
Beckwith Water Park
Beckwith Ave, Saanich

With a variety of water structures for any age (including slides), Beckwith never gets boring. The “frog pond” blasts water from all directions and is loads of wet fun.
