In an effort to promote black creators and empower viewers, Cineplex has made a large collection of films free to stream on its platform. 

The collection includes 45 films by black creators or about the Black Lives Matter movement that are currently available at no cost to those who wish to watch them.

Among the movies are popular titles like 12 Years of Slave, Boyz N The Hood, Moonlight, Poetic Justice, Just Mercy, Us and more. 

‘In a time when many are turn to movies to become informed and empowered, we want to help,” Cineplex said in a statement. 

“Our ‘Understanding Black Stories’ collection was curated to elevate Black filmmakers. These films are available to view at no cost on the Cineplex Store.”

To access the “Understanding Black Stories” films, viewers must create an account on Cineplex’s website and rent their film of choice for $0.

Once the film is rented by the viewer it will be available to view in their library for two days.

Cineplex has also said that it is covering the royalty costs associated with the collection.
