In partnership with the Thomas Alan Budd Foundation, the Central Okanagan Food Bank (COFB) raised a total of $417,583 during their 27th annual Be an Angel campaign.
The campaign ran throughout the month of December, and the funds raised will ensure that the rising number of people struggling with food insecurity have access to the nutritious food they need to thrive.

During the campaign, the COFB shared stories of some of their clients, allowing the community to see who uses the food bank and why.
“These stories encourage connection on a very human level, while also challenging the assumptions that some people have made about food bank users,” explains Trina Speiser, the COFB’s director of development.
The Thomas Alan Budd Foundation contributed a $30,000 donation to the Be an Angel campaign.
In December 2022, the COFB distributed 3,300 hampers for a total of 6,179 individuals, and 459,186 lbs of food was donated by the community.
The COFB is a non-profit organization that relies on the community’s support to help those facing food insecurity.
