Police say a 22-year-old driver is lucky to have only received minor injuries after a rollover collision in Langford recently. 

Police said that on Nov. 18, at about 9:50 pm, a Westshore RCMP officer was patrolling on Millstream Ave when they were flagged down by a witness who said a vehicle had just rolled over down the street near Bear Mountain Parkway and Echo Valley Drive.

The officer attended the scene and located a white 2018 Toyota Corolla flipped over onto its roof. 

A 22-year-old man managed to get out of the vehicle with minor injuries. 

He provided a breath sample to the officer, which he failed. It was determined that he was over the legal limit of alcohol, and he was issued a 90-day Immediate Roadside Driving Prohibition. His vehicle was also impounded for 30 days. 

Police said this was a single vehicle collision with no other passengers.

“This driver is lucky to have walked away from such a serious collision with only minor injuries. With the holiday season upon us, we would like to remind motorists to please plan for a safe ride home,” said Cpl. Nancy Saggar, West Shore RCMP Media Relations Officer.

The West Shore RCMP added that over the next coming weeks people will see officers at road blocks around the area checking for driver sobriety.
