A man has been arrested following a robbery this morning at a local business.
This morning, Sidney / North Saanich RCMP received a report of a robbery that had just occurred.
A suspect reportedly entered the business, did not produce a weapon but threatened to shoot an employee and fled with an undisclosed quantity of cash.
An intensive search for the subject was initiated and subsequent reporting was received from a home owner in North Saanich who was being threatened by the same man, who was in the caller’s yard.
Police attended and took the subject into custody related to these incidents of robbery and uttering threats.
Once the subject was identified, police discovered that he was at large on three separate warrants related to property and persons offences from Victoria, the Fraser Valley and the Saanich Peninsula.
The suspect, a 43-year-old man with no-fixed-address, and who is an apparent repeat offender, is currently being held for a bail hearing on the strength of the new charges and the warrants.
