    Speed believed to be a factor in serious motorcycle crash 

    A  22-year-old motorcycle rider in in serious condition after losing control and veering off the road on Friday night. 

    Police said the incident happened near the intersection of Tillicum Road and Gorge Road West.

    Officers responded to the call just before 11 pm on Friday September 1, 2023.  

    The rider was taken to the hospital by paramedics with serious injuries that are now believed to be life-threatening. 

    Collision analysts attended and preliminary evidence suggests that speed was a factor in this single-vehicle crash, police said. 

    Anyone that witnessed the collision or events leading up to it, including dash cam footage, is asked to contact the Saanich Police at 250-475-4321.
