  • Colwood house fire deemed suspicious, police seek witnesses

    A fire in Colwood early Friday morning has been deemed suspicious.

    On July 28, at about 2:48 am, West Shore RCMP officers attended the scene of a house fire at 2356 Sooke Road.

    The Colwood Fire Department was already on scene when police arrived, and managed to extinguish the fire.

    Police canvassed the neighbourhood and it was determined the home was abandoned and there are no reports of injuries.

    No suspects have been identified as of yet. 

    Police are looking to identify and speak with a person who was seen walking in the area wearing all black around the time of the fire. 

    “Investigators would like to speak to this person as they may have information that could help this investigation,” said the RCMP. 

    If this was you, or, you know who this was, please call West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 to speak to investigators.

    Police are also requesting anyone who lives in the area, or was driving by at the time, to please check your home surveillance and/or vehicle dash camera footage for the time period of July 28, between the hours of 1 – 3:30 am, and report any suspicious activity to police.
