The Nanaimo RCMP is looking for the rightful owner of a stolen and abandoned ATV. 

The recreational vehicle was located at about 7:30 pm on April 2, 2023, in some bushes just west of the Nanaimo Parkway, near the Woodgrove Centre.

Police said the vehicle was found after police had followed a suspected shoplifter from Walmart to across the Parkway and into nearby bushes. 

Minutes later, an ATV was heard starting up. Officers followed some tracks which led to the vehicle. 

The VIN on the green Polaris Sportsman 500 had been removed and to date, the vehicle has not been reported as stolen. The ATV was eventually towed for safe keeping.
