Fresa is looking for a furever home!

Fresa is a 3-year-old Labrador Retriever / Australian Cattle Dog/Red Heeler. She is currently at the SPCA in Comox waiting to find a loving home.

This adorable girl has been waiting far too long for her chance to have that snuggle-filled, game-playing, snack munchin’ good life she deserves.

She came to the shelter after living most of her life outside. That rough start has only made her appreciate the love and care she gets now!

This chatty little lady makes the sweetest "awoos" at you while she waits for her breakfast, and makes the best pig imitation while she plays with her favourite rope toy.

She has displayed a few resource guarding behaviours, and would need a home that is ready to take this on. She does very well with being given her bones or meals in her own area where she can be by herself until she’s done. Ideally, Fresa should go to a home without children for this reason.

Fresa is also reactive to other dogs, and doesn’t seem to enjoy them being in her space, so a home where she can be the only pet would be her preference until she can work through these issues.

Upon arrival it did appear Fresa had recently had puppies and went through a little bit of medical care before she was ready to be put up for adoption. 

Fresa is still awaiting her surgery to be spayed later this month, so she is looking for a home that can take her on as a foster to adopt until she is ready to be an official part of your family.
