This is some breaking news!

  • Sage & Plate brings something new to the table: in-home private dining.

The first chef in Kamloops to specialize in at-home dining, Paige Badminton opened her very own catering business in May 2021 and has made significant strides in the community.

That was proven during this year's Best of Kamloops competition, where Sage & Plate nabbed nominations in both the Best Caterer and Best Local Chef categories.

“It was a pleasure and a shock to receive the email saying I was nominated to the second round in two categories!” says Badminton. “This is a big step for the business and it’s helped solidify that I’m on the right path."

Her service aims to deliver an elevated dining experience. Offering seasonal menu changes, sustainable, quality ingredients, classic and modern cooking techniques and good conversation, Badminton is excellent at what she does.

Badminton has been passionate about food for a decade, working at a variety of different restaurants over the years. These positive involvements pushed her to finally open her own catering business.

“Food is very powerful in the ways it connects, grounds and inspires people. I am so thrilled to be able to do what I do and create those lasting moments,” says Badminton.

She loves seeing how a delicious meal served at an event or function can bring together people who’ve never met before.

“Watching strangers become dear friends over dinner is what fuels my fire!”

The vibrant business owner aims to create memorable dining experiences, in the comfort of your own home. But she also offers services outside the home, including event catering for weddings, corporate lunches and bridal showers/bachelorette parties as well as picnic kits and grazing tables.

All of the hard work that Badminton has put into her business is paying off, and she couldn’t be more grateful for the support of the community.

“Sage & Plate has been very well received and I’m enjoying creating connections through the community. I feel very fulfilled in my career and thank all of my mentors and friends that supported, guided and shaped me into the person that I am today.”
