The Canadian Hockey League announced on Tuesday afternoon its winners of the 2021-22 CHL Awards. 

Kamloops Blazers captain Logan Stankoven took home the David Branch Player of the Year Award for his electric season.

The 19-year-old had a career high 104 points (45 G, 59 A) in 59 games that ranked third best in the WHL. Drafted by the Dallas Stars in the second round (47) of the 2021 NHL Draft, Stankoven had 28 multi-point games this season, including 18 times where he had three or more points.

Helping lead the Blazers to its third consecutive BC Division title, the forward led all skaters in postseason points with 31, and goals with 17. Stankoven beat out Windsor Spitfires Wyatt Johnston and Saint John Sea Dogs William Dufour for the award. 

Netminder Dylan Garand won the CHL's Goaltender of the Year award for his dominant season. 

The Victoria native tied for first in the WHL with 34 wins, and posted a tidy .925 save percentage and 2.16 goals against average. In just 45 regular season games, Garand had four shutouts.

The New York Rangers prospect was even better in the postseason, sporting a 1.92 GAA in 17 games, nabbing three shutouts.  

Garand beat out Brett Brochu of the London Knights and Samuel Richard of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies for the award.

Kamloops forward Connor Levis was a finalist for CHL's Scholastic Player of the Year award, but lost out to Owen Beck from the Mississauga Steelheads. Meanwhile, Stankoven was also up for Sportsman Player of the Year, but lost to Jordan Dumais of the Halifax Mooseheads.
