The City of Victoria has began accepting applications for this year’s Strategic Plan Grants, which provide funding for dozens of community projects each year.

Mayor Lisa Helps believes the program will provide vital funding for organizations facing financial impacts due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic: 

“The City’s Strategic Plan Grants provide a way for Council to support local groups in creating and enhancing resiliency and equity in Victoria neighbourhoods as we build back stronger from the pandemic.” said Helps.  

The applications are open to any non-profit or community organization planning projects that support one of eight initiatives outlined by the city in their community planning. 

You can is visit the City of Victoria’s website for a full list of accepted categories, but some examples includes initiatives supporting affordable housing, environmental stewardship and indigenous relations. 

In 2021, the city awarded over $470,000 in funding for community projects and has awarded over $3.5 million in fundings since the program began back in 2015.  

Applications will be accepted up until the deadline on Jan. 31st and the city will be holding two virtual workshops on Jan. 12 and 19 which will provide an overview on the application process.
