A small wildfire that sparked in the channel separating both directions of highway one was extinguished this afternoon. 

Three BC Wildfire Service personnel, along with RCMP, Kamloops Fire Rescue and BC Hydro attended the small grass fire, which was less than a hectare in size.

Taylor MacDonald, BCWS information officer, said that no values were threatened despite the fire's proximity to the highway. 

She said that the three personnel completed their objectives and have since left the area.
