Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced 77 new cases of the novel coronavirus, but no new deaths in BC on Friday.

The updated totals now sit at 348 confirmed cases in the province, with 22 cases of the virus being treated in hospital and eight deaths.

All dine-in restaurant service has also been ordered to stop, with take out and delivery still being permitted. 

About two dozen health-care workers in B.C. are now affected, but none have had a severe case of the virus.

A new outbreak was also identified at the Dufferin Care Centre, a long-term care home in Coquitlam, where a health-care worker was diagnosed with the virus. 

Of the 348 confirmed cases, 200 are in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 95 are in Fraser Health, 30 in Island Health, 19 in Interior Health and four in the Northern Health region.

Six people have now fully recovered from the virus in BC. 

Health Minister Adrian Dix did address the public's angst surrounding medical supplies and reassured that the province currently has the supplies it needs.

Dix also commented that the cancellation of non-essential surgeries cleared over 2,000 hospital beds in the province and has been instrumental in curbbing the spread of COVID-19.
