UPDATE: Hwy 1 reopens west of Revelstoke

(UPDATE: Feb. 11 @1:40 pm) – Hwy 1 has opened west of Revelstoke following an earlier vehicle incident.

Travellers should expect delays due to congestion.

(Original Story: Feb. 11 @ 9:45 am) – Travellers using Hwy 1 this morning should be aware of a closure to the east.

According to Drive BC, the highway is closed 24 to 18 kilometres west of Revelstoke due to a vehicle incident.

The incident in question occurred between the Griffin Lake Avalanche Gate and the Three Valley Avalanche Gate.

At this point, crews are on scene and an assessment is in progress. No detours are currently available.

The next update is scheduled for 10:30 am.
