UPDATE: Hwy 1 reopens near Tappen after earlier vehicle incident

(UPDATE: Feb. 7 @1:00 pm) – Drive BC is reporting that Hwy 1 has reopened near Tappen.

Travellers can expect some delays due to congestion.

(Original Story: Feb. 7 @ 11:40 am) – Travellers using Hwy 1 should be aware of a closure northwest of Salmon Arm.

According to Drive BC, a motor vehicle incident has the road closed in both directions near Tappen. The closure is for 1.7 kilometres between the White Creek Frtg and James Raod.

At this point, crews are on scene and an assessment is in progress. Drive BC has not mentioned if there is an available detour in the area.
