  • Kelowna’s Dreamland Band to host annual fundraising concert this month

Kelowna’s 17-piece big band orchestra, The Dreamland Band, is preparing to host its annual benefit showcase at the Mary Irwin Theatre.

Hosted on Friday, Feb. 21, the fundraising event will welcome an audience to enjoy original hits composed by the band’s lead alto sax player, Malcolm Green, along with a string of arrangments from composers such as Glenn Miller and Gordon Goodwin.

Joining the talented group will be local vocalist, Alisa Anderson and international performer Marty Edwards.

Along with the traditional arrangments, the Dreamland Band and Edwards will pay tribute to pop artists of decades past such as Engelbert Humperdinck, Tom Jones, Kenny Rogers and more.

Proceeds from the performance will be donated to the Starbright Children’s Development Centre, a not-for-profit organization that supports the growth and development of children with developmental needs through early intervention services.

Tickets for the event are on sale now for $30 each. You can secure your spot at this night of music for an incredible cause by visiting the Rotary Centre for the Arts website.
