A street hockey game hosted on Leon Avenue in downtown Kelowna has been produced into a short film. 

In October, Solid Rock Video brought together members of the Gospel Mission and the West Kelowna Warriors for a game of pick up in an effort to humanize those experiencing homelessness. 

The short film features candid interviews with Mayor Colin Basran, those living on Leon Ave and members of the Warriors about how sport has the power to bring people together.

"Sports has a way of bringing people of all walks of life together. It's something we have in common and this video is about showcasing the things we all have in common,” said Curtis Allen, owner of Solid Rock Video.

"We want to show that homeless are the same as anyone. It is certain situations that change our path,” added Michael Morrison, Director of Development, Kelowna Gospel Mission.

“This video can help to take away that negative picture.”
