Motorists will be in for a white knuckle drive if they’re heading east over the next few days.
Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for the Trans-Canada Highway from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass.
The warning calls for “hazardous winter conditions” and “significant snowfall.”
"A slow moving frontal system will remain over the BC interior tonight and Tuesday," it says.
"Heavy snowfall associated with this storm will begin this evening over the Trans-Canada Highway – Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass."
Up to 40 centimetres of snow is expected to fall and accumulate over Rogers Pass through the next 24-30 hours before easing off on Wednesday morning.
Weather in the mountains can change suddenly and drivers are urged to prepare for deteriorating travel conditions.
