Prince George RCMP is warning the public after a recent rise in counterfeit currency reports.
According to police, officers have been called multiple times over fake American $50 bills.
Although it has yet to be confirmed, these incidents are similar to a string of reports throughout Saskatchewan, Alberta, and the southern Interior of BC. Retailers in the city should use extra caution when receiving American currency as payment.
