The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the death of a second teenager involved in a rollover crash near Williams Lake on Saturday.
According to police, the crash occurred at 3:38 am on Highway 20, approximately 15 kilometres west of the town.
Police found that a GMC pickup had left the roadway and rolled onto its roof. One teenage woman was pronounced dead at the scene while four other people were taken to the hospital with serious or life-threatening injuries.
"I can confirm we are investigating two deaths from the motor vehicle incident on Saturday near Williams Lake," wrote the service. "Both deaths involve females in their teens."
"Our investigations will determine how, where, when and by what means they came to their deaths and, if relevant, may make recommendations aimed at preventing death in similar circumstances."
Due to the privacy of the deceased, the service did not confirm a name or age. Police believed alcohol was a factor in the crash.
