    KelownaNow is teaming up with the Kelowna Farmer’s and Crafter’s Market to keep the city up to date on what they can expect from the market each month.

    From seasonal produce and blooms to favourite vendors and events, this is where you will want to come to help plan your weekly market trips.

    September is here and the leaves are already beginning to change, which means all of the fall favourites are starting to arrive!

    Apple season arrived a bit early at the market. From galas to goldens, pink lady’s and more, you can find all the crispy and juicy varietals that you crave.

    Other fruits you can expect include plums, grapes and even Asian Pears.

    Asian pears can only be found at the L&B Orchard table for now and they are a must get. Juicy, crunchy and sweet to the taste there rare gems are an incredible addition to school lunches.

    L&B Orchard grows four of the over 20 varietals of Asian Pear's and plan to have them all out for sale by October.

    For veggies, it is still all about garlic at the market. You can also find vibrant heirloom carrots, beets, cherry tomatoes and even winter squash are starting to come in.

    OktoberFest is being celebrated at the market this month and is shaping up to be one cool experience. With live music, traditional German dancers, and of course, big salted pretzels — you won't want to miss out on this cultural celebration on Saturday, Sept. 21.

    On September 28, you can learn all about the life of a farmer at the Market’s Harvest Festival. From the growing process to what it takes to get the products on your table, a plethora of information will be readily available.

    Head to the corner of Springfield and Dilworth between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. every Wednesday and Saturday to enjoy all that the Kelowna Farmer’s and Crafter’s Market has to offer.
