Another forward has committed to the West Kelowna Warriors for the 2019-20 season and he’s coming quite the distance to play in the BCHL.

Zack Jones played the past four seasons with the Boston Jr. Bandits organization, registering four goals and 31 assists in 50 games last season.

“Zack is a skilled player with excellent vision and IQ for the game,” said head coach and GM Brandon West. “His ability to be creative and make plays will fit in nicely with our forward group.”

The 5’9”, 162lbs forward was sought after by a number of USHL and other junior A clubs, but chose to play with the Warriors in the end.

He said he’s always been interested in the BCHL and has heard good things about both the city and the organization.

Jones is committed to play for the University of New Hampshire for the 2020-21 season, which means his stay in West Kelowna will only be one year.

The Bridgewater, Mass. native said he plays a similar game to Washington Capitals forward Nicklas Backstrom.

“I consider myself a skilled playmaker that plays both ends of the ice and competes every shift,” he explained.

Jones also said he’s been working hard since the Bandits season ended, trying to improve his strength and speed while spending plenty of time in the gym.
