  • Three new wildfires burning near Lytton

Three small new wildfires were spotted near Lytton on Tuesday, two of which are in the Kamloops Fire Centre.

The two fires south of Lytton were discovered at Nekliptum Creek and Boothroyd, just north of Boston Bar. The third was found at Anderson Lake west of Lillooet.

Though the wildfires are quite small, the Anderson Lake fire is burning the largest at three hectares. Nekliptum Creek is 0.4 hectares while Boothroyd is 1.10 hectares.

Both the Boothroyd and Anderson Lake fires are suspected to be human-caused while Nekliptum Creek's cause is still unknown.

This is now the 14 wildfire reported by the province, which includes four that occurred in near Chase and Roche Lake earlier this week.
