Hi! I’m Felix, and I am here in Canada to find myself a loving family.

My story begins in Iran. My siblings and I were with our mother when city officials shot her in front of us. Then they grabbed all of us to kill us too. My rescue was actually quite dramatic. My rescuer convinced the officials to let me go, but then they changed their minds. My rescuers would not give me back, thank goodness! But, because they stood up for me, they were threatened and followed to their home, where they were threatened some more. They were brave humans and I will be forever grateful to them for saving my life.

I am living in Nanaimo right now with a human family and I have learned the joy of living as part of a human family where I relish going on car rides, snoozing in front of the fire and rough-housing with other dogs at the doggy day care. My Canadian family has a cat and I am well behaved with her. I also know how to walk nicely on a leash and. of course, I am house-trained.

Sadly, my Canadian family have to find a new home for me, though I wish this were not the case. You see, I am anxious and defensive around strangers, particularly when they surprise me, and my people don’t feel they are the best fit to help me overcome this behaviour.
What I really need now is a stable home with someone who would be willing to help build my
confidence and manners around strangers. Another confident dog to keep me company would be great, and I would be fine if there were a cat in the household too. I am medium energy so as long as I get out for a good walk or two each day I would be more than happy to snuggle with you and hang out quietly in the house at other times.
I have come so far, both in distance and in learning, but I still have so much more to offer. I just need to find my person and together we can grow into the perfect team.
